Lead Trainer
Sam W. graduated from Shepherd University in 2017 with a BFA in Photography and Computer Imagery. Upon graduation, she began working at a local animal shelter as an animal care technician and immediately fell in love with the field. For four years, she worked in various shelters and rescues before an unexpected life change brought her to Salisbury, where she joined K9 Heeling as a kennel technician.
With her passion for animals and strong leadership skills, Sam quickly rose into management and led the kennel for nine months while immersing herself in the world of dog training. In January 2022, she transitioned into training full time and now leads all Board and Train programs.
Outside of training, Sam enjoys spending time in nature and values the sense of balance and connection it brings to her life. She never goes a day without music, and you can often find her dancing while training dogs. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and two close friends, reading fan fiction, and learning French. One of her biggest personal goals is to one day travel throughout Canada and experience its natural beauty and culture firsthand.
Sam shares her home with two black cats, Bruce and Selina, and a Mini Goldendoodle named Corby.
